Wow, since a very dear friend turned me on to your site and others concerning what's in our food, water, everything, I did just plod along eating whatever. But living in New Jersey, the state with the most superfund clean up sites, I have always known just how toxic this state is from the amount of chemical, pharmaceutical and petroleum processing plants in it. I remember as a little boy, fishing, watching chemicals just pouring right out into the river from the local chemical plant, and thinking way back then, "Just how f'd up is that??!!" No doubt the incredible rate of autism here alone, now about 1 in 98 births, cancers, and so many other things are directly caused by these environmental factors. All for corporate greed. And yet they still keep the most medicinal plant in the world, the most natural healer, illegal. Waiting for the Revolution to start...

This is such an important topic, and definitely one that people who care about food should be concerned with (which really, should be everyone!). It is so common for people to just eat and not even know what's in their food or where it comes from. I know for many years, I never thought at all about what was in the food I was eating. It was quite an eye opener when I discovered that most of what I ate was poisonous or toxic. Imagine that! We are all slowly poisoning ourselves to death. If that doesn't grab people's attention, I don't know what would!

Great post. This stuff is way too prevalent, and it's disturbing that "natural flavoring" can be an excitotoxin.
