Amanda - I am sorry to have taken so long to get back to you on this comment. Anyone can benefit from doing a gallbladder/liver cleanse. Even if you don't have stones in your gallbladder, you can still likely have them in your liver if you have eaten a lot of processed foods in your life ,and the liver is a large, major organ which has the job of filtering most toxins that come into your body. Many women have gallbladder issues after or during pregnancy because of the increase in estrogen in the body. No matter what your health, you should eat healthy fats and proteins from animals and birds raised on pasture, butter, lard, tallow and fats from birds like geese, chicken, turkeys, and game animals, coconut oil, olive oil, and cod liver oil. If you are having severe issues, try the GAPS diet which provides guidance about eating real, traditional foods that are easy to digest and healing for the digestive tract such as eating ghee (clarified butter), home-made bone broths and vegetable broths, using home-made juices from vegetables, fermented foods like cultured vegetables and fermented dairy like kefir and yogurt from raw milk and also made at home. Check out Andreas Moritz's book The Miracle Liver Gallbladder Cleanse and Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride's book Gut and Psychology Syndrome. Coffee enemas are also very safe and helpful to those with toxicity issues, especially in the liver/gallbladder. Here's a link:

Hi Raine,
I have been reading A LOT of your articles online here because my holistic doctor told me about the miracle galbladder cleanse. After checking out everything you have said Im left with one question......If i do not have any stones present in my ultrasounds or blockages or anything in my HIDA scan, will i still benifit from doing the 6day miracle galbladder cleanse? My hida scan did reveal i was only functioning 60% but i would love to find out more on how i can help repair my galbladder myself. I have been suffering with digestive upsets and pains in my abdomin for almost 2years. Right after having my son was when they all started, and i am more than exhausted with the pains and attacks. I wanna be the best mother and wife i can possible be but my pains are holding me back from doing so and I am ready to take back control of my life. Can you also point me in the right direction with a list(with any and ALL) of such "whole foods" i would benefit from. Thanks for all your insight and i hope to hear back from you soon.

One on the things I've seen consistently in articles linking meat consumption to cancer, diabetes, etc... equates mixed processed and treated meats, i.e. sausage, bologna, bacon with unadulterated (sic) meats i.e. steak, fillet, etc.

Sausage/bologna type products are made with ground up organ, poor quality, and trash meats. Because everything is ground together it is easy for contaminants to be hidden with the homogenization and high flavor/color enhancement of the product. As a chemist, I have analyzed liver, lung and kidney tissues for environmental contaminants such as pesticides and mercury. These glandular organ tissues contain very high levels of toxins compared to muscle tissue.

Upon consumption of sausage-like processed products, the eater gets:

1. Any toxins the animal ate from its most contaminated tissues, its glands.
2. High fat to help these toxins absorb into the eater's body
3. Nitrates/nitrites, which are known to cause cancer when in an acidic environment -- like stomach acid. The 'pink' color is due to nitrite/nitrate curing.
4. Flavoring/preservative/color additives.
5. Filth and low quality possible diseased meat undetected in a highly processed meat product.
6. A meat product that is traditionally served without cooking after purchasing. Therefore, the consumer is vulnerable to bacterial contamination if the product was compromised prior to ingestion. This includes poor quality control at the factory as well as bacterial growth in the consumer's refrigerator. Where as bacteria would be destroyed after thoroughly a meat product.

I would like to see some studies looking at cooked muscle meats with out the inclusion of processed meats and then see the disease profiles. I think that the results would be much different than what the popular media tells us.

Stanley - yes,you are right about all the horrific substances that go into the factory meats. This article was really more focused on the significance of dietary fats in our meals, but that topic is certainly an important one and it is something I have addressed in various other posts on this site. But it cannot be stressed enough times just how unhealthy those meats are to consume, so thank you for reiterating! And thanks for your comments and support.

Isn't it frustrating how many times we point out that Europe has banned things like GMOs, growth hormones, antibiotics, and fluoride in the water, etc. almost ad nauseum, and so many people still don't seem to understand that those substances have been banned for a very good reason - they are damaging to human health and the environment. I hope this point gets driven home to those who refuse to believe it!

Raine, thank you so much for pointing out the difference from real grass fed meat and the "conventional" stuff.
I will mention that the feed of factory cattle is even less natural than you have indicated. first, the soy and corn are almost always genetically modified. They have been modified so more pesticide can be sprayed on them without killing the plant. This means that the grains are heavily sprayed with pesticides.
Factory cattle are usually also fed "byproducts", which is a nicer sounding way of saying "garbage". This includes poultry litter, a disgusting combination of chicken feathers and chicken manure. Yes, chicken manure. The FDA actually defends this practice, which is banned in Canada, and just about everywhere else. Sometimes actual garbage from the city is sterilized and fed to the cattle. Candy has been added to the mix, often still in the wrapper. Refined sugar can make cattle fatten faster. And rendered Restaurant plate waste is also fed to industrial cattle.

Industrial cattle are also given artificial growth hormones and large amounts of antibiotics, to make them grow faster. These practices are banned in Europe and many other nations.
