Michael Schmidt is a true, modern-day hero. This passionate, Ontario dairy farmer believes in the peoples’ right to be able to consume the foods they choose. He has put everything on the line to stand up for these rights.
Raw milk is currently illegal in Canada, and to prove his point he is fasting, and has been for 25 days.
For decades, there are plenty of foods and food products that have been recalled off the shelves in many countries, and those foods have made people sick or killed them. And still, those foods are allowed to continue being sold without any repercussions to the food companies producing them. And yet, healthy, real food continues to come under fire from government and health officials.
He has owned and operated a sustainable farming operation where he produces raw milk from healthy cows on pasture. He believes with all his heart in the way he produces this milk for his customers, who have all freely chosen to do so for their own health and well-being. Michael has worked tirelessly to promote the production and availability of safe, healthy food for everyone’s consumption.
Do you believe in the right to be able to eat what you want? He believes those rights are something everyone should be granted. If you feel the same way, please take some time to contact Premier Dalton McGuinty, with a respectful and kind but firm message stating how you feel about this situation.
