The Story of Stuff – What's in Our Products?

We don’t even realize it, but the amount of toxic substances stored in the body due to daily exposure can be a cause of health issues. There are many people with chemical sensitivities, allergies, and illnesses related to toxic chemicals in our environments. Chemicals are not just in the food we eat, water we drink, and air we breathe – they are also found in many products people use everyday.

A study conducted by by researchers from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, the Environmental Working Group of Oakland, California, and Commonweal Environmental Health and Research Institute in Marin County, California, showed the following results: each person in the study was tested for 210 chemicals commonly found in consumer products and industrial pollution. On average, the test results showed each person tested positive for 50 or more chemicals linked to cancer in humans and lab animals, all considered damaging to brain and nervous systems, or known to cause interference with hormonal and reproductive systems.

Please watch this important video about personal care products and chemicals we use in our homes and offices every day. Then ask yourself “what can I do to reduce my toxic load?” We can’t possibly eliminate it all, but you can make a difference by looking at what’s in your home or office, and eliminating, reducing, and replacing some of your products with other substances that are safe and non-toxic.

This video will motivate you to make some changes in your life that can improve your health. Reducing exposure is key to lowering your risk of developing degenerative disease like immune and digestive system, endocrine, reproductive, and nervous system disorders as well as birth defects, learning disabilities, and cancer.

Also, consider making a donation to the cause of getting chemicals and toxins out of products sold to consumers.
